The Formal was held on Saturday and as usual our students looked outstanding.  It is such a pleasure to see the families that come to support the students who have transformed themselves into sophisticated young adults.  This year we went to the Savoy and we only just squeezed in.  Following straight on is the musical “High School Spoofical”.  I look forward to seeing the amazing talent of our performers, and production team. 

This week the Year 7 and 8 students area, Te Kainga, received a “cow” of twenty netbook computers.  Thanks must go to the Community Trust of Otago for helping in the purchase of these.  They have already been well used and our junior students can look forward to having more immediate access to technology and the resources it brings.  The art department has just received a bank of Apple Macs and are exploring the use of these with the art students. 

Our junior students continue to shine in terms of challenging themselves and creating opportunities.  Congratulations to Kiran and Leo.  Next week our short term visitors from Thailand leave us after seven weeks.  Our best wishes go with them and to the wonderful Taieri families who gave them a real Kiwi Experience.  We hop to see you at the UCE Thai Farewell Presentation Night on Thursday 13 May 7pm Hislop Hall.
