Visiting classes last week, I went into a senior English class and saw their persuasive writing.  I was impressed with their powerful use of language, finely honed skills in crafting sentences and linking paragraphs.  I remembered the report to the Board of Trustees from the English Department. They presented the excellent results achieved last year and, I noted in particular, the outstanding achievement in the Shakespeare question.  100% success.  This is the culmination of years of attention to teaching and learning by skilled and experienced teachers.  At Year 8 I saw the beginnings of this process with the poems written by one class.  This particular one appealed to me.  I want all our students to dream great dreams…. And to achieve them
