Kia ora tatou Thank you to the very large number of parents who attended our Parent-Teacher interviews this week.  It was really encouraging to see such a healthy interest from parents willing to share in their child’s progress.  The feedback I have received from staff and the parents I talked to was very positive. Unfortunately in some cases parents weren’t able to book suitable times with specific teachers and this can lead to a degree of frustration.  Could I please suggest to those parents that they e-mail the teachers whom they weren’t able to see and organise a catch up time in the near future.  Our teachers understand the importance of keeping in touch with home and will happily oblige in any opportunity to discuss what is working well, and sometimes not so well, for your son or daughter.  I would also like to pass on my gratitude to our wonderful prefect group who braved the cold and acted as “direction givers” during the evening.  Their input and enthusiasm was appreciated. Next week we have two groups of students embarking on overseas adventures.  On Sunday I am travelling with a group of senior rugby boys departing for Argentina, and on Thursday a group of historians leave for a tour of Vietnam.  I have no doubt both trips will provide incredibly rich and cultural experiences for all involved.  These trips are the culmination of lots of organisation, fund raising and commitment from students, staff and their parents.  My thanks to everyone who has been involved in making these exciting opportunities happen and I wish all a safe and rewarding voyage. Noho ora mai Dave Hunter Principal
