Junior Programme

Welcome to the Junior School programme for Taieri College.

 
Miss Kim Allan
Assistant Principal
   
Students follow the Curriculum as outlined in the Ministry of Education documents.

We place particular emphasis on covering the Technology and Arts programme over the four years and create the oppourtunity for students to learn another language. All Science programmes are delivered by specialist Science teachers using laboratories. Year 7 and Year 8 students are home roomed in specially designed classrooms. At Year 9 and 10 students follow a more traditional secondary structured day.

The Head of Learning for the Junior school is Assistant Principal Miss Kim Allan.




Students' pastoral needs are covered by their form teacher and the Deans appointed to each year level. We have two experienced and qualified Counsellors on staff.

There are an extensive range of external suports that we can access to help our young people.

The Head of Student Support is Mr Wayne McFarlane.
