Senior Programme
|
Students begin to specialise at this level and we prepare all our Year 11 students to achieve NCEA Level 1. We aim to meet the diverse needs of our learners by providing alternative programmes and offering support for individual students.
Generally we expect our senior students to stay into Year 12 and achieve NCEA Level 2 as this appears to be the core qualification needed by most employers and tertiary providers.
At Year 12 and 13 we are able to offer vocational and academic programmes as well as individualising a course of study involving work experience, work exploration and GATEWAY. The Head of Learning for the Senior College is Ms Paulette Hutchison.

We recognise that students in our Senior College are young adults and we endeavour to support them to make good choices and to consolidate a strong foundation for their future career. Individualised programmes can be created. Pastoral care is available through the form teacher and relevant Dean, the Careers Advisor and College Counsellors. We are able to access a range of other community resources as required. The Head of Pastoral needs is Mr Mike Newell.
