SECONDARY SCHOOLS MIDWEEK TENNIS COMPETITION
TERM 1 2012
- Dates: Thursday 16 February - Thursday 29 March 2012
- Times: Logan Park – 1st Round 4.00pm – 5.00pm, 2nd Round 5.05pm - 6.05pm
Please get to your venue and be on court as soon as possible.
- Number of Teams: There may be a restriction on teams accepted due to reduced courts available at the Edgar Centre this term. However we may use some school courts if required.
- Format: One singles and one doubles match each per week. Matches are timed. Each match will be 30 minutes long at Logan Park and 30 minutes long at the Edgar Centre.
- Rounds: This is a round robin competition.
- Points: 2 points will be awarded for each match won; if a match is drawn both teams will receive 1 point (max. 6 points per week). If teams are tied at the end of the last week, team positions will be calculated on a count back of games won.
- Teams: Two boys or two girls (3 player teams are recommend if students are going to have trouble playing every week)
- Registration Fee: $65 per team – will depend on games played due to weather, amounts will be reduced by $5 for each cancelled week, discounts do not apply for defaults – schools will be invoiced at completion of competition. Entries will no be processed until previous terms outstanding fees have been paid.
- Door Charge: Logan Park – $4 per student is included in team fees
- Draw: Will be emailed out on Tuesdays and available on the website www.tennisotago.org
- Venues: Logan Park Tennis Centre and the Edgar Centre
- Defaults: Must advise Greg 021 222 7610 or 4259768 and the opposition school via phone and email by 11am on the Thursday of the match. If schools do not advise us of a teams default, that team may be withdrawn from the league. Teams that default more than once will incur a $20 penalty which will be charged to the school.
- Each school/team MUST have an adult in charge that is responsible for the team on the day.
- Cancellations: Logan Park cancellations will be made by 12.30pm on Thursdays and will be notified to schools via email and phone.
- Closing Date: The entry form must be emailed by 11.00am Friday 10 February 2012.
- PLEASE NOTE: Players must be able to serve, rally and score to enter this competition.
